Domain Registration Agreement

Every domain is subject to the policies of its registry and, for generic domains, to ICANN policy. Those rules can change without our involvement, and we are obliged to apply them.

Some country-code endings carry extra eligibility requirements, such as local presence or a business registration. Where a registry rejects or revokes a registration for eligibility reasons, we refund what the registry refunds to us.

You must provide accurate, current contact details for the registrant and keep them updated. Deliberately false details are grounds for suspension or cancellation of the domain under ICANN policy.

You must respond to verification emails from us or the registry. Failure to verify within the stated window can result in the domain being suspended.

The registrant named on the domain is its holder. Where the registry allows it, we offer privacy protection so your personal contact details are not published in public lookups.

Privacy protection does not transfer ownership to us; you remain the holder at all times and can disable protection whenever you wish.

Domains renew automatically by default so your site and email do not go dark. The renewal price is always shown next to the registration price before purchase.

If a domain expires, most endings enter a redemption period during which recovery is possible but the registry charges a substantial redemption fee. After that the name is released and anyone may register it.

Transfers in and out follow registry rules, which usually require the domain to be unlocked, at least 60 days old at its current registrar, and authorised with a transfer code.

We will not block a legitimate outbound transfer. Registry rules generally prevent transferring a domain within 60 days of a registration or a change of registrant.

Registration, renewal, transfer, restoration and change fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable once the registry has been charged, as set out in our Refund Policy.

Generic domains are subject to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and, where applicable, the URS. Country-code domains follow their own registry dispute procedures.

We comply with decisions issued under those procedures and with valid court orders, and will tell you when a dispute affects a domain you hold with us.

A domain may be suspended or cancelled where required by the registry, by law, by a dispute decision, for non-payment, or where the name is used for phishing, malware distribution or other serious abuse.
