That freedom comes with responsibility. Unless you add a managed plan, patching, monitoring and hardening are yours to run.
Between shared hosting and a VPS sits business or cloud hosting: guaranteed resources with the control panel and managed maintenance you already know. For most growing sites this is the correct next step, and it needs no server administration at all.
Copy files and databases first, test the site on a temporary address, lower your DNS time-to-live a day ahead, then switch. Keep the old plan running for a week so nothing is lost if you need to look something up.
